I came by boat Saturday with my wife, managed to get a spot for the boat *+. 1st band ended at 5:00 pm and next one was to start at 7:00pm, decided to snack and hang out. Service was ok during the break, place was packed. The bay side bar became mobbed once the band started and service became near to impossible, even seated at the bar. Bar area was large and there were 4-5 tenders and a barback or two, everyone behind the bar was hustling and still 20+ minute wait for any service. Tried to get food at the bar, ( wanted to get a pound of the steamed shrimp that the guy next to me was eating) was told that they no longer took food orders at the bar (7:00pm), didn't seem to mater that I was trying to get anyone's attention for 20 minutes. I went to the desk to get a table and was told there was a 2 hour wait, went home and had leftover's. This was the 3rd time I was there this year and I'm not real impressed, I hope it is just the growing pains, I'm not giving up yet, maybe next season they will get enough help when they need it and be able to take better care of their customers.

We stopped in on a Monday night, it was burger night so I thought I should stick with the special. The food is about the same quality you would get at a bowling alley. Frozen patties, small simple menu. We also got the pulled pork sandwich, it went bun, pork, bbq sauce dropped on top, and then bun. Mix the sauce with the meat, how long would that take 30 seconds.. Come on!!!! They should honestly be embarrassed by the food they serve. This place is huge and has an amazing venue. Beautiful views, sand under your feet, cute outside seating, tikis, great staff. They need to start over from scratch when it comes to the menu, absolutely horrible.

The only reason this is getting two stars is because of the atmosphere and live music. Great place to go to if you're looking for a bar. There was a reasonable 45 minute wait considering we arrived at 6pm on a Friday. All of the food we ordered was almost marginal. We had clams, shrimp and mozzarella sticks to start. Chicken fingers, grilled chicken deluxe, Ahi and some other stuff were all a disappointment. Not one meal was eaten fully. Waitress and staff were very pleasant and the place is very cool. Just don't expect anything delicious.

Cocky, sloppy bartender. Felt like I was bothering him. Tip reflected his service and attitude. He was just to cool. Food was ok. Styrofoam plates for outside tables? Not to smart there. We were able to find a slip and were seated in quick order. The Rudder will get my money next time.

The Day I went the credit card machine was down, and I overheard homophobic remarks. Having worked at a restaurant I know there's always ways to work around when a credit card machine is down but they apparently seemed oblivious. Call me crazy, but when I want some down-home homophobia I just go to the Cracker Barrel where the credit card machine always works. Never going back!

Stopped in on our boat - unless you wanted a burger or BLT, everything I tried to order they were out of - it was Memorial Day Weekend - Sunday @ 6:30pm. The service staff was rude and the food was taken home for the dogs (no one was going to eat the leftovers). The most of the clientele were rough on the edges and only interested in drinking. To top off the night, security surrounded my children like criminals for taking their sodas back to our boat...good job on scaring a 3, 4, and 8 year old, for a supposed policy, that was posted NOWHERE! Not a kid friendly place; we won't be returning! Monday night we went to Hammerheads, food was great, they had everything on their menu and no one stopped us for taking our soda cups back to our boat.

We've been taking friends here since it first opened. The atmosphere is great and we love that it's accessible by water. But with each visit, the service gets worse. We brought a group of friends last weekend and sat down at a table. Our server took about 10 mins to come by the table for our drink orders but we didn't mind. It was pretty busy. With each drink or ketchup request, it seemed like our server would get more annoyed. Long waits between drinks, was frustrated that we paid check with more than one card, etc. (get over it- we tip 25%). This weekend we gave it another chance. Huge mistake. Went on Friday- wasn't busy. Sat at the first bar off the docks and there were 3 bartenders behind the bar. One was actually working. One young woman stood there with her sunglasses on and constantly texting while her customers needed drinks. The gentlemen messed up our drink orders right away and didn't seem to care about our experience. Lots of employees hanging around at al times. Where is a manager? During a previous visit, a bartender made a comment that their boss doesn't care about her (it was a really hot day and I suggested she put a fan on to cool down). To the manager- if you don't care, your employees will know, and neither will they! You are wasting a money maker opportunity. I'll be taking our large check, 25% tipping group to hammerheads next time. We will try again next year- hope PG managers get it together.

Having read some of the reviews I can imagine that the long waits and average food can be a terrible experience. I was there on a thursday night after labor day. It was quiet. Staff service was intent, polite and aproachable. Atmosphere was awesome. Food was good and tasty if not exactly original. I had a burger cooked as I wanted it. Pulled pork and fish and chips were well received by other members of my group. Beer comes in plastic cups and the cups are small...which seemed a little lame. Srinking beer from plastic cups seems so college. Overall a good experience however.

Excellent venue, horrible service. Maybe they are suffering from their success. Simply their staff is overwhelmed. Third time here this season, third time we experienced the same service. Clearly a leadership, management issue. In a positive, orange crushes rock!

I.recently dined at this restaurant with a group of friends and although my friends decided on burgers I decided to order the crab cakes. BIG MISTAKE! !!! $22.95 is not really a lot of money these days for a meal IF the food is good., but this meal was AWFUL!!!! for a number of reasons. 1 - PLASTIC UTENSILS! !!! not just plastic, but cheap flimsy plastic utensils (the dollar store must have had a sale) 2 - Cheap paper napkins (dollar store?) 3 - Beverage had a total of 4 ice cubes in the cheap flimsy plastic cup. (I am guessing this place gets frequent buyer points at the dollar store) Now on to the meal itself. I specifically asked our server if the crab cakes were good and asked if there was a lot of filler in the crab cakes. She said no, that there was a lot of crab meat and hardly any filler. I then made my choice of two sides. (grilled asparagus and a baked potato) I chose the baked potato after asking what the "potato of the day" was. The service started out OK so I was hopeful. I decided to overlook the plastic utensils, the cheap flimsy napkins and the lukewarm beverage in the cheap flimsy cup. I was having delicious crab cakes with very little filler, grilled asparagus and a baked potato. Or so I thought! !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! The food arrived at our table in a decent amount of time and my plate was the last to be presented. I looked at my plate and the first thing I noticed were MASHED POTATOES! !! I said to the server that I ordered a baked potato NOT mashed potatoes. She said mashed potatoes were the "potato of the day". I reminded her that I ordered a baked potato and her response was. ... "do you want something else? (I thought to myself, yes a baked potato would be nice) I did not want to make my dining companions uncomfortable so I said the mashed potatoes would be fine. Now on to the crab cakes. I reluctantly call them crab cakes because I was hard pressed to see any trace of crab meat. 1- These things were as flat as pancakes. 2- They were not golden brown like you would expect. The word that comes to mind to describe the appearance would be "anemic". 3- Earlier, I stated that I wondered if there was any crabmeat in these "crab cakes". Well I was hard pressed to make that determination through taste because it was if I were eating a "salt lick". One of my dining companions offered me some of her french fries because she felt bad that I was so far extremely disappointed and what better way to heighten ones spirit then to have some french fries. (right? ) WRONG!!! ....There was no seasoning whatsoever on the french fries. Not even salt, but then again the chef seems to have used all their salt while preparing my crab cakes. The kind friend who kindly shared her fries with me wanted to put some catsup on her burger and fries but...Alas....Our catsup container was empty and the salt shaker was no where to be found. We finally had the opportunity to ask our server for catsup and salt. (If only I could have extracted some from my crab cakes) We finally had to flag down another server to once again request catsup and salt, plus refills for our beverages which was never offered. The big question one might ask is why I did not return my meal as unacceptable gruel? I did not want to embarrass my dining companions. The only reason I gave this review one star is because we had a great seat and a killer view. Bottom line. .. one of the worst meals I have ever had.

The atmosphere is great. Wasn't too packed on a Sunday night in season. However, the overall experience was lackluster (considering the hype). We were scolded for taking drinks (both alcoholic and non) from a bar to the dining area. A party of 9 and a high chair was seated at booth meant for no more than 8 people. A manager noticed and told us that it shouldn't have happened. She told us she would do something, disappeared, and never returned. The food was not great. We will not be returning. There are far better places to eat in the area.

Disappointing service! The food took an hour to come out. Food was good, not great and it's more of a loud bar than I would like.

Pulled up with a friend and her family to this nice location. We sat at a table and ordered some frozen cocktails that were less of a cocktail and more of a sugar rush. We ordered chicken nachos for the table and they were excellent. The service could have been better as long with the frozen drinks. This is a really cool spot that I would recommend. I'll hopefully be back here.

Have been to Paradise Grill five times, arriving by boat. The deck hands are handy and welcoming. The atmosphere is fun and tropical. This place has expanded greatly this year, I'm sure that has been challenging. In spite of the expansion and frequent full houses, we have experienced nothing but friendly and attentive service. The food is good, but we mostly go for the atmosphere. Kids love the play area and ice cream bar. The new open-air restroom is phenomenal! We will return often. Three stars for food, four stars for atmosphere and service.

Dinner was awesome the other night! The prime rib special was great. It was so tender. The scallop risotto was fantastic. Pulling up to the dick and having the crew help us with the boat is so nice. We can't wait to be back.

This has become a pretty hot spot for locals and folks that want to avoid the crowds in Rehoboth/Lewes/Dewey. Location is stunning, though parking was already getting sketchy at 6pm on a Saturday. Had a grapefruit crush which was a tad weak. Shared some Thai wings to start; a touch over cooked, but still good. I had linguine with clams which was fresh, but needed a little punch to balance the garlic and parsley. My wife had a crabcake sandwich which she enjoyed but certainly wasn't the best she ever had. $52 for our two entrées and the appetizer plus my drink. Service wasn't glowing, but wasn't a detractor either. I would go back there as a social outing with friends but not necessarily make a date night out of it.

Love the atmosphere, the boats, the ice cream. Food is just not good. How do you mess up a chicken sandwich? Bland and fries cold. Oh, and had to pull my server away from corn hole to get a menu. Had to get my own napkin, cuttlery and ketchup. No salt or pepper on table. Sadly, this is standard, EVERY time we go! Dang it, it's been 3 years and i want to support the place!

Sitting on the sand looking at the water is the best! Food is ok, could be better. Four small crab balls for $8.95. Mahi sandwich had such a big roll that made it very dry. Shrimp was good,

How can such a great location have such lousy food. Salad wasn't fresh at all burgers had no flavor and the chicken sandwich tasted like yesterdays. But the view is fantastic

Feels like you're in key west, what a great find! Drinks were like $6-7, good Orange crushes! Nice band lots of dancing. Didn't order food cause it was packed! Clean bathrooms, no cover, lots of places to sit and hang out right on the water. Will be back!

The atmosphere was good. The problem was with the wait staff. Although the service was prompt and drink refills came timely, one of our party ordered a burger, which comes with fries and a pickle spear. She CLEARLY indicated that she wanted an alternate to the fries(I want broccoli instead of fries) and the wait staff member did not mention that there would be an upcharge. When the burger was served, it included fries and a portion of broccoli. We mentioned that she was not supposed to get fries and they offered to remove them from the dish. When the bill arrived it included an additional $ 3.95 for the broccoli. We questioned that and essentially the wait staff member wasn't hearing it. She took it to a manager who removed the broccoli charge. However, upon returning with the adjusted bill, the wait person told us "For future reference", that essentially would not happen since the policy was no substitutions. Incidentally, all sides were priced the same, $ 3.95 as best as I remember. We told the wait staff member that we all(5 of us) clearly heard the order as a substitution and for future reference, better listening skills should be taught to the staffers. Future reference will not matter to us since we will probably not be returning and were quite insulted by the staffer's mention and tone about "future reference". BTW, my medium burger had no signs of pink whatsoever.

I have visited via boat and car. The dock hands were very helpful. The parking is difficult given the location, either circle the lot or be prepared to walk a ways. My meals were average, a daily special spinach salad with a few shrimp on top and nachos with no kick and uneven distribution of toppings. The poor rating is due to unattentive wait staff on my second visit, in the beach section. I had to leave my table twice to go to the bar for a fresh drink. I was not checked on once after receiving my meal. The only time my waitress returned was to collect the bill and she did not come back with my change. Seriously. Nowhere to be found. That has ruined the Paradise Grill for me.

During happy hour shouldn't things be cheap? My crab dip which isn't even that good or large, it's in a tiny bread bowl that soaks most of it up, was 12.95! My blue moon, made in St. Louis was 4 dollars served in a child's size sippy cup, but clearly it said 2 dollar domestic drafts for happy hour. Did St. Louis get taken over by the military and become its own police state, cuz last I checked it was still part of the USA

This place is always crowded. Service is slow staff inconsiderate. Music is to loud to talk to each other. And the food you can get better at McDonald's. Guess if you just would like to go and get drunk which there is a lot of then this is a place for you. Would not take my enemy here or a friend. Do yourself a favor stay away.

Great place to meet friends. Food is good and service is great. Can get very busy, even during the week. Packed on a Tuesday night. Wait for a table 45 mins, so we sat at the bar and were served dinner right away. Nice family atmosphere.

During the summer the place is pretty crowded. The attraction is the water view, and the fact that you can pull your boat right up. The place was recently expanded to include a stage with a guitar player that only his mother could love. Service was abysmal. The staff seems to think that this is some type of exclusive club. The menu is standard bar fare and the food is average. Unfortunately, it's the only game in town. For now.

Stopped there over the summer, was a little disappointed when I pulled in and saw the sign no motorcycles, since I was on one, but figured what the hell can only throw me out.....I pulled up to the place parked the bike and went in. View was great, and the beer was cold, bar tender was great cant comment on the food didnt eat but people who were seemed to be enjoying it......while I was there had the pleasure of meeting the owner and we chatted.....he was surprised I was on a motorcycle because he didnt hear me pull up......no its not a honda or other bike its a Harley with Vance and Hines short shots (for those of you who know)......he said that the resort park where his restaurant is located doesnt like the noise of cycles......hey cant blame not everyone wants to hear us when we come and go and I for one respect that.....told him not to worry you didnt hear me come in you wont hear me leave......enjoyed my time there and will be a regular as long as I dont have to walk in from the road.....too old for that walk........

I understand the prior reviews on the food, and while I have to agree with some, I will say they are improving. They are adding specials everyday and what goes over well, might go onto the permanent menu. I had the pastrami special today and it was the best pastrami sandwich I've ever had. You could smell it cooking from the parking lot and it was yummy and lean! Please keep trying new things Paradise, and when you get good feedback, stay with it and don't change it. If you don't have good food, you will lose your customers (no matter how good the atmosphere)!

A slice of the island life in DE. Riverside tiki bar with strong cocktails and decent enough bar food. A real nice change of pace from all the regular Happy Hour bars on Rehoboth Ave. Suggest the crab dip and a frozen rum runner!

This is a great place to come to chill and have a drink. Food is just OK. Very nice island atmosphere, just don't expect much in terms of their food offerings. The new expanded facilities are great . Love all the palm trees.

I heard a lot of thing about this place. Some good and some bad. So had to give it a shot for myself. Came with my mom and meet some friends here on ladies night. They had 4.00 crushes which is a great deal! They did not have much booze in them. The bartenders are very nice and the placed is really cute and big. Really cool open air bathrooms that are brand new. They had 5.95 cheese steaks so we ordered one to share. At the same time the girl next to us ordered one-in fact I believe we ordered just a few minutes before her. After she was done hers which was probably 30 minutes or so we still did not have ours. When it finally came out it had mushrooms on it that we did not order. In fact we think the girl next to us got our order by mistake. So after an hour wait we get the wrong order. Good thing we both like mushrooms. However the cheese steak was pretty good. The cheese steak gets a 4 and the place gets a 4 but the wait on the cheese steak gets a 1 and then the bill came. There was a 2.00 charge for the fries which I expected but .50 for fried onions? Really? No place should ever even sell a cheese steak without them! At least we didn't get charged for the mushrooms we didn't order! So the 5.95 cheese steak was really 8.45 when all was said and done and it was wrong. and the cheese was all in the bottom. We waited so long we should have gotten it taken off the bill or a free drink or something. We didn't even get a "sorry for the wait". It's a shame it was good but I would rather hit Starboard for 5.00 cheese steak on Thurs that comes with fries and the order is right. And it's truly 5.00. I would come back but not drink mixed drinks. Only beer. 4 drinks in and just felt full of sugar.

Was staying at The Peninsula across the bay. Paradise was great - easy with kids. Reminded me of an outdoor bar I went to in FL. Totally casual. Food is tasty enough. Lots of people coming in on boats off the bay. Good drinks. Play area for kids, shuffle board...

Cool find in the coastal area of DE. Hit the happy hour with my family and it was very relaxing. Good scenery, atmosphere, drinks and food. Access from both land and water. One warning, be careful of the "picnic" tables.... All of us sat on one side for a brief moment and the whole table tipped over...waitress said it wasn't the first time!
